Four Ways to Celebrate Athlos Style
Rewards are an excellent opportunity to recognize and celebrate student accomplishments, but rewarding students does not have to involve candy and other foods that can undermine children’s diets and reinforce unhealthy eating habits. Instead, try these Athlos-friendly rewards to provide positive reinforcement for student behavior and academic performance.
#1: Student’s Choice
To celebrate, give your student the opportunity to choose one of the following:
• sit near friends
• teacher’s helper
• choose a movement break activity
• choose the type of music to play in class
• choose a book to read to the whole class
• first of the line
#2: Class Choice
To celebrate, give your student the opportunity to choose one of the following:
• free time at the end of the day
• have music playing during work time
• extra movement break
• go to lunch first
• teacher performs a special talent of skill
• extra 10 minutes of free play

Instead of sweet treats, celebrate birthdays by:
